Research Facilities

Our group is based in the J. Erskine Love, Jr. Manufacturing Building.  The largest experimental facility is a high-temperature (up to 400°C) and high-pressure (up to 10 MPa) helium loop with a maximum mass flow rate of 10 g/s; we are currently building a larger loop with a flow rate of 100 g/s.

The research projects described here rely on a variety of optical equipment including:

•  water- and air-cooled continuous-wave argon-ion lasers
•  frequency-doubled Q-switched diode-pumped solid-state Nd:YAG lasers
•  electron-multiplying and intensified CCD cameras
•  high-speed CMOS camera
•  inverted epi-fluorescent microscopes
